Dr. Ramón A. Durán

Dr. Ramón A. Durán has more than 35 years of experience providing cosmetic and restorative dental care of the highest quality. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine and completed a general practice residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Over the years he has built a reputation as one of San Juan's finest dentists for his distinctive, comprehensive approach to patient care.

For 20 years he served on the faculty of the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. He is also a recognized lecturer in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, sharing his knowledge with dentists in Puerto Rico and abroad.

Dr. Durán is the first and only dentist in Puerto Rico accredited by the respected American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. It is a personal credential, earned case by case before a panel of examiners and never granted to an office, held by a small group of dentists worldwide. He is the author of “Your Best Smile… for a Lifetime,” a book that guides patients toward optimal oral health. He is also a member of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO).

Unlike most dentists, Dr. Durán practices complete dentistry: a comprehensive, individualized approach to dental care that begins with prevention and early intervention. Contrary to what you might think, this does not mean drilling and filling every tooth.
